Business Professionals of America

Business Professionals of America is a school organization club in which students compete in events that promote growth in several business fields such as online design, accounting, business management, and many other popular business fields. If there is anyone you know that is in a school, or you currently attend a school that has a Business Professionals of America organization, please note to them or yourself that this is a great opportunity to get post-job experience. If you or anyone else attends this club, it looks very good on college applications as well as job resumes.

Assistive Technology

1. When Aaron was in the second grade, he was having trouble with reading. He could only use 1st grade reading material and had a hard time decoding words and the meaning of them. He was soon after assisted by Star learning center in their learning lab. Aaron was challenged with a reading diability and overcame this disability with Star's assistive reading program.

2. Sarah, a girl with a rare disease called Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP), uses assistive technology for her mobility. This disease turns her muscles into bones as she gets older, and as she gets older, she loses more and more of her mobility. She overcomes this by using an electric wheelchair in which allows her to be mobile and independant.

3. The mother of Jon Udell was facing hearing and vision loss as she was getting older. In order to cope with this loss, Jon got her a humanware magnifier, which lets her put things into it and amplify the size of the text that she is reading. This allowed her to read things better without having to get glasses.
